Mitsubishi Outlander Hybrid 2013 will soon be releasing its next-generation Outlander SUV, which is based on the recent PX-MiEV and PX-MiEV II concepts.Initially the new Outlander will be sticking to petrol and diesel engines. But reports now suggest that a hybrid version of the Outlander SUV could be arriving as soon as 2013. The reports also suggest that the 2013 Outlander Hybrid
will be getting a global debut one year after its launch.This uses a hybrid powertrain comprised of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and two 60 kW (81 hp) electric motors. According to Mitsubishi, the PX-MiEV II offers a driving range of 800 km (500 miles), with an average fuel efficiency of 60 km/ liter (141.1 US mpg; 169.5 UK mpg or 1.7 liters per 100 km).
Details of the new ultra-green SUV and sources for the information were not revealed, although the report claims that the new hybrid will get a global debut in the year following its launch.In concept form, the PX-MiEV II is powered by a 70kW 2.0 litre petrol engine, paired with two electric motors to produce a combined 120kW. Mitsubishi's new twin-motor four-wheel-drive system and Super All-Wheel Control is also featured.
At the LA Auto Show, Mitsubishi’s CEO announced that numerous hybrids and plug-in hybrids were to be expected in coming years. According to Mitsubishi, another 6 hybrid and/or plug-in vehicles will hit the market by 2015.
