Gumball HQ confirmed to GTspirit that the 2012 Gumball 3000 Rally will be a classic coast-to-coast rally starting in New York and finishing eight days later in Los Angeles, California.
While some of the cars were stopped by the cops on their way to St, Louis, they all got there in the end and we’ve got a video that proves this.
The clip, which comes from Youtube user Shmee150, allows us to see the entire Gumball 2012 line-up in front of the Gateway Arch in St. Louis.
After we got out of the traffic of New York it was time to cruise through the beautiful nature of America. The first two hours we missed all the teams. But when we saw one it was the most spectacular car.
The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport from the big boss of Trust drove up the freeway just when we passed. Not long after that it got pulled over by the police just to make some pictures.
The Gumball 3000 was stricken with tragedy in 2007, when one of its participants crashed into another car head on at an estimated 100 mph, killing the driver and passenger of the other car, but leaving the participants unharmed. After this occurrence, the Gumball 3000 organizers took a much firmer grasp on driver safety and have become the ambassadors of road safety throughout the world.
