The era of electric cars stop at the sports car manufacturer Aston Martin. RapidE, an electric car concept that has been introduced since 2015, from Aston Martin soon entered the production stage. The 2019 Aston Martin plan will start.
In a press release Aston Martin, Thursday (29/07/2017), the British manufacturer confirmed it will produce RapidE in limited quantities, ie 155 units only. RapidE became the first electric car from Aston Martin.
RapidE will spearhead the strategy of Aston Martin in the development of environmentally friendly and low-emission vehicles set by the President, and Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer. This strategy is indeed planned Aston Martin in the second century of the company.
"RapidE represents a sustainable future, where elegant, classy values remain in the car, not just cars with a new zero emission powertrain," he said.
Based on Rapide AMR concept, RapidE will be presented in the form of a four-door sports car, as well as carrying the dynamics of RapidE S which is powered by an all electric powertrain, replacing the six-liter V12 engine.
RapidE is a continuation of collaboration with Williams Advanced Engineering, which is working on the original RapidE concept.
