Two variants of the pickup made by Chevrolet, General Motors (GM), the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon is now equipped with a new engine of 2800 cc four-cylinder Duramax. The latest diesel engine claimed to be capable of spraying 181 bhp at 3,400 rpm and torque of 500 Nm at 2,000 rpm.
GM statement quoted Worldcarfans, Thursday (07/30/2015) calls it a blast of energy transmitted to the wheels by using an automatic transmission of six levels of acceleration. Armed with machine powered by it, both variants were able to carry goods weighing 3,492 kilograms (kg) for the type of two-wheel and 3,447 kg for four-wheel type.
The manufacturer says, it's brand-new machine has several advantages. First, the machine is equipped with direct injection technology, common-rail, with lightweight but strong steel crankshaft.
The cylinder block is made of iron material combined with DOHC cylinder head from aluminum lightweight hard.Second, this machine can take bio-diesel fuel B20. GM even explicitly claimed as the cleanest diesel engines ever made. It was thanks to the use of technology-cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system.
Third, the workings of the machine it is claimed more subtle, minimal noise and without vibration. Chevrolet uses a torque converter device called centrifugal pendulum vibration absorber (CPVA) to dampen the vibration.The device muffle or absorb energy mass that occurs when a jolt of torque. As a result, the vibration can be minimized.
The plan, GM offers new engine pickup at misim fall in the type of Colorado-type LT and Z71. Also in the GMC Canyon SLE and SLT type Cabin Crew both two-wheel and four-wheel.
